Chandi Devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi. Temple is located at the top of Neel Parvat on the summit of the Sivalik hills. Morning Darshan Timings
- Morning Opening Time – 6:00 AM.
- Temple is closed at 12:00 PM.
Evening Darshan Timings
- Temple opens at 3:00 PM.
- Then it will be closed at 6:00 PM in summer and at 5:30 PM in winter.
Aarti Timing
- Early morning Aarti is performed at 5:00 AM in the temple.
- Evening Aarti will be performed at 7:00 PM.
Ropeway Timings
You can avail a ropeway facility from morning 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The tickets you buy is valid for 3 days. The tickets aren’t available online, yet it’s easy to buy tickets there itself streamed in a line separate for gents and ladies.

Chandi Devi ropeway is located at Chandi Padestrain Marg in Haridwar.
The ropeway is locally known as UDAN KHATOLA. You can cut the traveling time short as you choose the ropeway. The temple is 3 kms from the Chandi Ghat base camp. The ropeway just takes about 5-10 Mins. However, you may have to wait up to one hour to get the ropeway car in the queue. The view from the ropeway is mesmerizing and magnificent.
History of Chandi Devi temple
Adi Shankaracharya is believed to have established the temple during the 8th Century. A great priest himself has installed the idol of the Goddess. In 1929, the king of Kashmir king Suchat Singh then the temple raised to an important holy place for devotees for worshipping the Goddess Chandi Devi.
Architecture of Temple
The rich architecture of the temple is built atop the hill, from where one can have an astonishing view of the Haridwar. A stunning trek of the hill leads the devotees to Temple.
Rope-way is also available for devotees if it is not possible for them to climb the Hill they can have a rope-way that will drop them to the top of the hill. During the rope-way ride on can see the surprising view of the valley.

If you are a trek lover and have enough stamina then trekking is the best option, which is just free of cost. Chandi Devi temple is 3 km from the base camp of Chandighat as mentioned above. You have to climb approx 800 steps to reach the temple. The trek takes about 45 minutes. You will be enjoying the trek, yet it is difficult. But still, beauty is awesome as you are climbing.
