Temples are reopening across the states, thus religious and charitable endowments (HR and CE) and tourism departments collaborate to launch spiritual tourism packages. The tours would be handled by the TTDC and darshan will be prioritized by the HR and CE departments.
About Temple Tour Plan in 1985
As stated by the former TTDC Manager N Ravi such an initiative was also taken in 1985 however it did not materialize and tourists traveling by TTDC darshan package did not get any priority darshan. Also, the charges for such packages should not be increased to accommodate the special darshan fee.
After inaugurating a strong room in Bharadwajeswarar Temple at Kodambakkam HR and CE minister P K Sekarbabu stated four colleges will be run by the department including one at Kolathur.
