Importance of Magh Mela
Every year, about 50 lakh devotees from across the country and the world come to the Magh Mela, located on the banks of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.

- Kalpavasis have to bathe and worship three times a day. Along with that, all our time should be spent in the devotion of the Lord.
- Tulsi and Shaligram are established and worshipped on the first day of the Kalpavas. Kalpavasi plant rice seeds outside their tents. Ultimately, he takes the plant with him and floats the Tulsi in the Ganges.
- It is believed that after starting Kalpvas, there is a tradition of continuing it for 12 years.
- It is said in the scriptures that only people who are free from responsibilities and are free from physical attachments should perform Kalpavas because it is believed that sacrifice is important in this and that only then can one achieve salvation.

- Worship Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna as per the rituals throughout the month of Magh. Also, recite Vishnu Sahasranama and Madhurashtak.
- This month, a person should stay away from vengeful foods, non-vegetarian food and alcohol.
