Maa Sharda Devi Temple About History:-

Maa Sharda Devi Temple on Trikuta Hill in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh is dedicated to Sharda Devi, also known as Maihar Devi locally. It is one of the Shaktipeeths of India. The necklace of Mata Sati fell at this place. Maihar is an ancient pilgrimage and the present temple was first built in about 502 CE. The temple also has smaller shrines dedicated to Ganesh Ji, Kartik Swami (Murugan), and Adi Shankaracharya.

Unique Panchadhatu Murti Maa Sharda Devi Temple, Maihar:-

Enshrined in the temple is a unique Panchdhatu Murti made of Gold, Silver, Copper, Brass, and Lead. Maa Sharda Devi is a form of Maha Saraswati and here She can be seen holding a pot of honey and a book. A benign and loving Maa Sharda Devi represents compassion and wisdom here.

01:00 PM Afternoon Aarti

07:00 PM Evening Aarti

Rituals along with Aartis are done three times a day, following the procedure set by Adi Shankaracharya of Sringeri Matha, and are according to the Advaita philosophy principles.

Maihar Maa Sharda Devi Temple Ropeway to the Top of the hill:-

Maa Sharda Devi Temple is located atop Trikuta Hill and one has to climb almost 1100 steps to reach it. For those who are not able to do this, there is a ropeway service now available. The service operates on all seven days of the week.
