Receipt Required To Enter The Ujjain Mahakal Temple Sanctum Sanctorum For Darshan

A receipt will be required to enter the Ujjain Mahakal Temple sanctum sanctorum for darshan, Located in the ancient city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. They have taken steps to prevent disturbance in entering the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakal temple of Ujjain. It is noteworthy that till now the photo slip has been used with the offline permission of Bhasma Aarti of Lord Mahakal.

Till now the devotees were getting receipts from various counters of the temple. Later on, they find that there was a disturbance in this system, some people were reusing a receipt in connivance with the staff and security personnel. To perform Jal Abhishek of Lord Mahakal by going to the sanctum sanctorum in the Mahakal temple, the devotees must receive Rs 1500.

After receiving the complaint from the temple administration, they decided to implement the system of entry into the sanctum Sanctorum through a slip containing a photo identity card. For this, the person himself has to be present at the receipt counter. The employees will take 1500 and take the photograph of the visitor and will provide a slip containing the photo. Entry to the sanctum sanctorum will be allowed only after the photo is attested from the face of the visitor at the entrance.
