History of Salasar Balaji

The idol of Balaji was discovered by Ginthala Jats of Asota village in Nagpur district of Rajasthan on Saturday of Shraavana shukla Navami samvat while ploughing the field. He showed this idol to his wife who came to give him lunch. She recognized the idol of Hanuman and worshipped it. This news spread all over the village. Meanwhile, Thakur of Asota got a dream of Balaji ordering him to send his idol to Salasar.

Mohandas Maharaj of Salasar got the same dream. He sent a message to Thakur of Asota. Thakur of Asota was surprised how did Mohandas Maharaj know about his dream. He realized that this was due to the divine powers of Hanumanji. Then, the idol of Balaji was shifted to Salasar and is till today worshipped there.
