Saptashrungi Devi temple, near Vani Village in Nashik district, is one of the three and a half Shaktipeeths of Maharashtra. It is also one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of India. ‘Sapta’ means seven and ‘Shrungi’ means peak.  So this means that Saptashrungi Nivasini Devi lives on seven mountain peaks.  Saptashrungi is a group of seven hills in the Western Ghats with an average height of 4500 feet above sea level. There are 108 water bodies in the area surrounding the temple.

Saptashrungi Devi Temple Three and a half Shaktipeeths –  Four parts of the Holy Omkara:-

The three and a half Shaktipeeths in Maharashtra – Mahalakshmi temple in Kolhapur, Tulja Bhavani, Renuka Mata temple in Mahur, and Saptashrungi Temple. These four temples represent the four parts of Omkara – A – U – M and Bindu. It is not clear which of these is the ‘Ardh-Shaktipeeth’. It is believed the right hand of Mata Sati fell at this spot.

Saptashrungi Devi Temple Two-Storied Temple with Swayambhu Murti:-

The temple is a two-storied structure built in front of a natural cave which is the sanctum. The cave is in the second story of the temple. A self-manifested Murti of the Goddess is seen carved on a rock face in the cave. The Murti is about 18 feet high with 18 arms, each holding a divine weapon like Trishul, Sudarshan Chakra, etc. The Murti is always beautifully adorned with jewelry and silk clothes and covered with sindoor.

Saptashrungi Devi Temple Ropeway Funicular Ticket Price:-

Saptashrungi Ropeway is The funicular Trolley enables pilgrims to get to the top (1400 meters ASL) in three minutes. It saves having to climb about 500 steps. The trolley travels at an angle of 36 degrees. There are two air-conditioned trolleys on each trip with a capacity of 60 passengers each.

Services remain open seven days a week from 6:00 AM to  09:30 PM.

Charges are INR 100/ for Adults and INR 50/ for Children (Subject to change)

Temple remains open till late night on festivals and Jagratas.

Igatpuri to Vani temple distance is only 53 km. Wrong information posted here from yatradham….
