The Major Temples are re-opening in South India. Here we have the opening dates of the temples at Rameshwaram, Madurai, and Kanyakumari.
Rameshwaram temple will remain close from 14th January to 18th January during the Pongal festival.
The temple will be open from Monday to Thursday. The temple will be closed for three days a week Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

District Magistrate Dr. JU Chandrakala, IOP informed that as a precaution against Corona, it is not allowed to go to the Agni Teerth beach area on the new moon day on 05.10.2021 and 06.10.2021.
Guidelines for the prevention of corona have already been announced in Ramanathapuram district. It has been announced that temples, shrines, and mosques will remain closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
In such a situation, on the day of Mahalaya Amavasya, on Wednesday 06.10.2021, a large number of people will gather in the coastal areas of Rameshwaram Agni Teerth to pay homage to their ancestors. As stated on both the days 05.10.2021 and 06.10.2021 the public is not allowed to worship at Rameshwaram Ramanathaswamy Temple and visit the Agni Tirtha beach area.
Ramanathapuram District Administrator Dr. JU Chandrakala, IOP said in a press release that everyone should provide their full cooperation in the efforts of the district administration to prevent the third wave of corona from spreading.

Meenakshi Temple at Madurai will be open from 5th July 2021 to the devotees. Dates may change as per the current COVID situation.
