Bhairon Nath, a sage was invited for a feast by Shridhar, a devotee of Vaishno Devi along with other 365 other people. Bhairon Nath was fascinated by the unearthly powers of the Vaishno Devi, in the form of a girl.

Bhairon Nath searched for her continuously for nine months. Later, he found her drinking water by shooting a stone. Vaishno Devi realized the presence of Bhairon Nath. She entered a cave to escape from his eyes, yet he was following her. Vaishno Devi moved out of the cave by destroying the left wall of the cave with Trident.
