Vaishno Devi Ropeway Timing

Vaishno Devi Ropeway starts at 8:00 AM in the morning and closes at 6:00 PM.

Note: Ropeway does not operate after 6:30 PM IST.

Vaishno Devi Ropeway Cost

Vaishno Devi Ropeway Going and coming back costs a total of Rs 100/- per person. This is a combined ticket for going to Bhairon Baba mandir and a return journey to Manokamna Bhawan.

Vaishno Devi Ropeway Online Ticket Booking

Tickets are available directly at the Bhawan.

Online Ticketing Booking facility is not available for Vaishno Devi Ropeways.  You have to buy tickets from the office of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board near the Manokamna Bhawan.

Ropeway is thus very comfortable, whereas a cable car could carry about 45 people per trip to Bhairo Nath and back. You can also carry your luggage along with you.

The ropeway facility has been started for both from Maa Vaishno Devi Temple to Bhairon Ghati and vice-versa. You have to reach Vaishno Devi Temple by 7 Km safe route on your own or can also reach through the facility of palki or horses. Then, you can reach Bhairon Nath Temple conveniently through the ropeway.

The trek to Bhairon Ghati from Vaishno Devi Temple is 3.5 Km, yet it is very severe and extreme. Not only the old and children but even adults would not be willing to take the risk to climb the Bhairon Ghati to reach the Bhairon Nath Temple as the way is too dangerous.

This is the reason why just a few people go to the Bhairon Nath temple. And the one who would not go to the Bhairon Nath temple their pilgrimage would remain incomplete.

Why Bhairo Baba After Vaishno Devi?

Bhairon Nath, a sage was invited for a feast by Shridhar, a devotee of Vaishno Devi along with other 365 other people. The Bhairavnath was fascinated by the unearthly powers of the Vaishno Devi, in the form of a girl.

Bhairon Nath searched for her continuously for nine months. Later, he found her drinking water by shooting a stone. Vaishno Devi realized the presence of Bhairon Nath. She entered a cave to escape from his eyes, yet he was following her. Vaishno Devi moved out of the cave by destroying the left wall of the cave with Trident.

Then, she took her real form and cut the head of Bhairon Nath. Bhairon Nath asked for forgiveness from Vaishno Devi. The Devi not only forgave him but blessed him that the pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi would not be accomplished without the visit to Bhairon Nath Temple.
