Will the Valley of Flowers open on 1st June?
Due to the Corona crisis, the Forest Department decided not to open the Valley of Flowers until further notice.
Valley of Flowers National Park in Uttarakhand is famous for the wide variety of colorful flowers grown in 87 square kilometers. Valley of Flowers is at the height of 12000 feet in Uttarakhand.
The forest department has decided not to open Valley of Flowers for tourists until further notice, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Valley of Flower is open for tourists from 1st June to 31st October every year. Possibly 500 kinds of flowers bloom in the Bhyundar Valley here.
The best time to visit the Valley of Flowers are in July and August. During this time you may see a maximum variety of flowers.
The flowers are in full bloom from July-August. Because after its opening in June, as time passes, more and more flowers bloom here.
How to Reach Valley of Flowers?
The closest route is from Govindghat. You can reach Govindghat from Haridwar via local transportation.
From Govindghat, drive to Pulna village (4 KM). From Puna there is a trek to Ghagharia (10 KM). You can take a helicopter, pony, or porters from Govindghat.
From Ghaghariya there is a full day trek of 10-20 KM to the Valley of Flowers. Start early to explore most of the Valley. You need to be back by 5 PM as per the forest department rules.
