Haridwar- The Land Of God

Rituals like Pitru Puja, bone immersion, mundane, and Shradh are performed at this ghat. Ganga is said to be the path of salvation.

Haridwar is the main pilgrimage among all the pilgrimages. During “Samudra Manthan” between the gods and the demons, while carrying the Amrut Kalash, some of its drops fell in Haridwar. And this is the reason that even today, no matter how many years the water of Haridwar is stored, it never gets spoiled. One can attend salvation by doing pitru puja at Har Ki Paidi. Temples around the Haridwar Ghat

There are many other ghats in Haridwar. The name of the 12 Ghats is taken while making the resolution. But the main one is considered to be Har Ki Paidi Ghat. All the temples around Har Ki Paidi belong to Gangaji. About 160 years ago, when Har ki Paidi was going to be built, there used to be houses of Brahmins instead of Har ki Paidi and due to the breakdown of this house, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya provided livelihood to all by getting these temples constructed.

Haridwar Kumbh Mela

Every 6 years, Kumbh Mela is organized in Haridwar. And Maha Kumbh is organized in twelve years. All the sages and saints of the world gather in the Kumbh Mela. All the sages and saints stay in their pandals for 3 to 4 months till the Kumbh Mela goes on. The royal bath has great importance in the Kumbh Mela. Apart from Har Ki Paidi Ghat, many mythological temples have also come here. Mansa Devi Temple, Temple of Maa Chandi, Raja Daksha Temple, Bilvakeshwar Mahadev Temple, and Mayadevi Temple are some of the famous temples in Haridwar. Ganga Aarti has great significance at Har Ki Paidi Ghat in Haridwar. Travelers from far and wide only come to see the Ganga Aarti. And capture this beautiful memory in their phone. Mother Ganga is awakened by the morning aarti. The noon aarti is followed by the midday aarti and the evening aarti is performed.
