Yamunotri Opening Dates 2019

On the sacred day of Akshaya Tritiya, the Saint opens the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples.

Thus, the Yamunotri opened yesterday on 7th May. After, completing all the ceremonies it was opened at 01:15 PM in the Rohini Nakshatra for all the devotees. The Doli of Goddess Yamuna left for the winter migration from the migration point which is Kharsali to Yamunotri Dham. The CM welcomed all the yatris visiting from India as well as from abroad. Even, on the day of opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri which is  Akshaya Tritiya the Chardham yatra starts.

Yamunotri temple is located at the height of 3239 meters above the sea level. It is in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. King Tehri Naresh Sudarshan Shah built the temple in 1839. The earthquake destroyed the temple and After it Maharani Gularia of Jaipur, rebuilt it in 19th century. The temple closes on the next day of Diwali festival called as Yama Dwitiya which lies on the month of October or November, as the region will be covered with white sheets of snow for the rest of months. Goddess Yamuna is a daughter of Lord Surya (Sun) and Goddess Sangya, the Goddess of Perception.

Yamunotri Temple remains opens for pilgrims from: 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Aarti Time at Yamunotri Mandir: 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm
