There is a huge weather update in Kedarnath Yatra. According to the latest Kedarnath Yatra news, there has been a relief in the constant snowfall. The snowfall started on 1st May.
After the weather update, government authorities paused the Kedarnath Yatra on the 3rd of May. Due to the constant snowfall in all the major regions of Uttarakhand, it was difficult to continue the Yatra.
However, many Yatris continued their yatra despite the bad weather. This made things difficult to handle for the authorities. There has also been a Kedarnath accident news of a snow slide.
Kedarnath Accident News: Roads Blocked After Avalanche
A massive avalanche (snow slide) blocked the pedestrian road of the Kedarnath Temple. The snow slide was from the Bhairav glacier which is merely 3 km away from the Kedarnath shrine.
The district emergency operation center or DEOC declared the 16 km Kedarnath trek as a dangerous spot. Because of two avalanches between the Kuber and Bhairav glaciers.
Another avalanche was near Helang, Joshimath. This avalanche on Thursday night blocked the NH-58, which connects Joshimath to Badrinath.
According to the authorities, a massive piece of the Bhairav glacier broke off, which caused the avalanche. It leads to blocking the entire route to reach the Kedarnath shrine.
The Weather Is Now Good In Kedarnath
On the 4th of May, there has been a slight relief from the snowfall. Locals get to see a little sunlight yesterday. However, the Kedarnath Yatra by walk has not been started yet.
The pedestrian route is not open for the Yatra yet. Hence, one must wait till the roads are completely safe again to do the Yatra. We will strongly recommend you stay at your accommodations until the weather is clear again.
Kedarnath Registration Has Been Stopped
The authorities stopped the online and offline registration for the Kedarnath Yatra due to the weather patterns. There is a higher chance of heavy snowfall on the 5th of May, according to the weather department.
The minimum temperature can go up to -10 degrees. Moreover, the heavy snowfall and rain can continue in Kedarnath Dham for the whole week.

Weather In Badrinath
As per the weather reports, Badrinath will also experience continuous snowfall. The minimum temperature can go up to -14 degrees. The maximum could be -4 degrees.
There are also chances of thunderstorms in Badrinath. According to the weather department, rain and thunderstorms can continue in Badrinath this whole week.
Is Kedarnath Temple Open Now?
The temple is not open to devotees as of 5th May 2023.
The online and offline registrations are not opened yet. It will take a few more days for things to be normal again at Kedarnath Shrine. The authorities are waiting for the roads to clear and the weather to be normal again.
