Mantralayam Temple opens after COVID 19:

Pooja time may vary a bit according to the rush of devotees.

  • Darshana of Sri Raghavendra Swamiji’s Moola Brindavana will be kept open for Darshana from 6.00 AM to 2.00 PM. The main gate of the matham will close by 2.00 PM for the cleaning of Garbha Gruha. Again Darshana will start from 4.00 PM to 9.00 PM.
  • Generally, HH Sri Swamiji will bless and give Mantrakshata from 10.00 to 11.30 at the morning and 6.30 to 8.30 in the evening.

Mantralayam Temple Information:

Mantralayam Temple is one of the important Vaishnava pilgrimages dedicated to the famous Vaishnava Saint, Sri Raghavendra. It is located in Andhra Pradesh at a distance of 20 km from the Mantralayam in the District Kurnool.

Panchmukhi is also one of the important sites for the Devotes visiting the Mantralayam. Panchamukhi is the place where Swamy has done Meditation for 12 years before settling in Mantralayam.

Mantralayam is a small peaceful and religious town located on the bank of the river Tungabhadra and gets the thousand of the devotees from all over the country.

History of the Mantralayam Temple:

Mantralayam Temple is dedicated to Swamy Guru Raghavendra Swamy, who lived during the 16th century. Swamy is a follower of Lord Vishnu and the teaching of the Saint is also based on the Vaishnava Cult, Dvaita philosophy, and preaching of Madhvacharya.

Five-faced Hanuman gave darshan to the Swamy getting impressed of his Meditation of 12 years, and that place is now known as Panchamukhi.

Before becoming a saint, Sri Raghavendra was a family man with a wife and a son. On the day of his transformation, his wife wished to see him for the last time. So his wife ran towards mutts for seeing him for the last time.

Has she been running towards the mutt she fell into an abandoned well and died? As her wish was not fulfilled, she became a ghost and came to visit the mutt. But the Saint felt the presence and sparkle of the holy water on her and relieved her from the cycle of birth and death.

Swamy is Believed to have done many miracles.

By Trains: The nearest railway station to the shrine is Mantralayam Road station which is 12 km from the temple. Many trains stop at this station. From the station, one has many options like buses, rikshaws, cabs, and taxis are easily available.

By Road: Mantralayam Temple has great connectivity with the road, State buses are easily available from many major cities of south India. State buses run frequently to Mantralayam from many cities in the state.
