The next Kumbh Mela, Nashik-Trimbakeshwar, will take place between 2026 and 2028, based on the Guru (Jupiter’s) transit in Simha Rashi.
Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh (Simhastha) occurs when Jupiter (Guru) enters Simha Rashi(Leo). The cycle occurs every 12 years, making it one of the most anticipated events in the state of Maharashtra.
The official dates of the 2026-28 Nashik-Kumbh will be finalised and announced by:

Timeline of Entire Kumbh Mela 2026-28
The timeline period of the entire Simhastha Kumbh Mela is scheduled between the years 2026 and 2028. The main Shahi Snans, Akhadas processions and rituals will be held during this timeline.
Provided below are the month-wise details of each activity that will be scheduled from October 2026 to July 2028.
1. October – 2026
- Akhada camps and tent cities officially begin to construct
- Development work of roads, vehicle parking areas, lighting and other like water supply systems, starts around major Kumbh zones
2. November – 2026
- For Akhadas, the final allocation of the camp zone is to be allocated
- To clean bathing ghats, such as Ramkund, Trimbakeshwar and Panchvati, a special drive has been started
- Drainage and sanitation systems will be upgraded near the Snan areas
3. December – 2026
- Almost 30-40% of the tent cities’ infrastructure is completed
- Temporary installation of the electricity lines will start
4. January – 2027
- Traffic management plan implemented
- Strict lights, CCTV sthapna
- Final stage of the preparation for Akhada Marg
- Ghat’s entering, closing road developing
5. February – 2027
- Naga Sadhu’s diksha, the ceremony preparation, is about to begin

Because the Godavari River’s spiritual energy is believed to be strongest when the Guru is in Leo, the alignment purifies karmic load, enhances the benefits of a holy dip, which attracts millions of devotees.
