Rudraprayag is located in the Uttrakhand state. It is 34 Km from Garwhal (Srinagar). It lies at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini river. Rudraprayag is one of the Panch Prayag or five confluences of Alkanda river. In addition, it is regarded as one of the sacred places. Narad Muni worshipped here to learn music. Lord Shiva in the form of  Rudra taught music to Narad Muni. Rudra is the lord of music. It is the gateway of two sacred pilgrimages Kedarnath and Badrinath. The Kedarnath temple is 49 Km from Rudraprayag. Tourists come here to seek spirituality. And also, to seek the beauty of nature. While the wife of Lord Rudra is Goddess Chamunda. So, there is also a temple of Goddess Chamunda.

Karnaprayag

Karnaprayag is one of the Panch Prayag or the five confluences of the Alaknanda River. Also, the other three Prayag are Devprayag, Nandprayag and Vishnuprayag. It lies at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Pindar Rivers. It is believed to be the place where Karna of Mahabharata worshipped the Sun God. Further, Karnaprayag is the place where Lord Krishna did the cremation of Karna. The town is surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains. The significance of Karnaprayag is that it is of mythological importance in relation to the epic Mahabharata. Also, Swami Vivekananda along with Guru Turianand Ji and Akharanand Ji meditated here for 18 continuous days.

Best Time to Visit Kedarnath

The best time to visit Kedarnath is May to June and September to October as in monsoon due to heavy rainfall, you should not visit Kedarnath. The climate is suitable from May to June and September to October
