Things To Do In Udaipur

Udaipur is the city of lakes. Maharana udai sinh founded it in 1558. It is located in southern parth of rajasthan near the border of Gujarat. Udaipur is knows for its culture, historical forts, Architectural temples and its festivals. the culture of folk dance and music adds the richness to its culture. Ghoomar, Kalbelia, Kachchhi Ghodi are the cultural dance. Gangaur festival, Shilpgram utsav, Hariyali Utsav, Haralayi amavasya, Jagannath Rath Yatra, Jal-Jhulmi Ekadashi are the festivals of Udaipur.

If you are planning a trip to Udaipur you must plan a trip for 3-4 days for visiting Udaipur in every place without missing anything precious. Udaipur is a tourist attraction of Rajasthan and you should not miss any of the beautiful place of Udaipur. Lakes are very famous in Udaipur so it is the lake city. The lakes of the Udaipur have very beautiful and natural scenic location. One can spend the best moments at the lakes. Apart from the lakes there are many places like Architectural temples and the Huge forts.

Before starting the journey let us know about the transport in the city. Taxis, Auto Rickshaws, and bus service is available around the city. Even, Taxi service like Ola and Uber are also available.

Day 1

So, the main attraction of the city is the City Palace. City Palace is Architectural marvel of Rajasthan. It is located on the bank of lake Pichola. It defines the wonderful blend of Medieval, European and Chinese Architecture. City Palace defines the history of the city and it is also the major attraction for photography. The city palace tickets are 30rs for adults and 15rs for childern. One can enjoy the beautiful scenic view of the lake Pichola from here. There is also a musuem in the Palace. it would require 1-2 hours of time.

The second place you can visit is The lake Palace. It was built as a summer palace and it is situated on the island of Jag Niwas in Lake Pichola. This Palace was later converted into resort in 1960 and now it is a part of Taj Resorts. This stunning location is also featured in many bollywood and hollywood movies. It would require 1-2 hours of time. you can have a boat ride, and have a luxurious meal.also if you love seeing the sunset you must visit at evening time. the sunset can be observed from the Fatehsagar lake which is nearby.

The next best place to visit is the Lake Pichola. It is Famous for its beauty of nature. The lake is surrounded by huge hills, magnificent places, and bathing ghats. You can have a walk around and enjoy the beauty of the lake along with nature. You can also have a boat ride. The boat ride is chargeable. you would require 2 hours or even you can spend some more time at this lovely place if not in a hurry.

Day 2

After starting your morning fresh its time for exploring the city again. Lake garden palace is the place you will start your day. Lake garden is an inspiration for Taj Mahal. The palace is considered as the symbol of friendship between Rajputs and mughals. things you can do at Lake garden is you can visit the beautiful flower garden. It would require 2 hours of time.

after exploring the Lake Garden Palace you must the visit Royal Vintage car Musuem. The itself suggests about the place. It is the musuem of the old vintage cars. you can do photography and see the unseen vintage cars in this musuem. you can also visit the Gulab Bagh that is nearby the museum. You would require 1 hour of time.

The next place is  Bagore Ki Haveli. The Archietecture of the Haveli is finely craved. It was built in 18th century. The museum presents the culture of Mewar. You can see antique collections of  jewellery, fans, boxes that were used by the Rajputs in that time. You can enjoy the museum of the haveli, Witness the folk Dance, Puppetry show and folk tales. It would require 2 hours of time.

Then you should visit Saheliyon KI Bari. It was built by the king for his queen and her 48 maids as a relaxation place for them. It is famous for the gardens and the peaceful environment. you can escape the chaos of the city and relax here for a great time. there is also a restaurant here that was built in 1559, and so you can enjoy the delecious meal here. You would require 2 hours of time.

DAY 3

After spending time at the Palace, Museum and the Lakes now its time to gain some blessings from the Jagdish temple. It is the Udaipur’s largest temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. you will also notice the beautiful Architecture of the temple, wall cravings. You can also do some shopping of handicrafts things from nearby area. You can spend 1 or 2 hours here at this place.

Moti Magri is the next place in the list you must visit. It is a small hill top where a statue of Maharana Pratap and his beloved horse Chetak’s Statue is made of the bronze. There is also a small garden surrounded by the place. It also gives a beautiful view not only of the Fateh Sagar Lake but also of the Udaipur city. You can spend a hour here.

Then you can go to Fatehsagar Lake which is just nearby the Moti Magri. The lake is an artificial lake and is is named after Maharana Fateh singh of Udaipur and Mewar.

Where to stay in Udaipur

You can choose Dharamshala for staying at Udaipur. The Dharamshalas cost is cheaper than the hotels available in Udaipur. you can stay at agrawal dharamshala.

 

How to reach Udaipur

Air
Udaipur have the Maharana Pratap Airport and is the the domestic airport which is just 20 km from the Udaipur city. The airport connects to the major cities of india like Mumbai, Delhi, Vadodara, Surat, Kolkata and more.

Rail
There are two railway station in Udaipur. Udaipur city railway station and Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Station.
Udaipur has the broad Gauge connection of trains to the cities of Rajasthan and most of the major cities of India. The trains connects to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kota, Kolkata, Indore, Surat, Vadodara, Gwalior, Agra. Also, The palace of wheels, Roya Rajasthan on wheels, Maharaja Express, and the Indian Maharaja Have Udaipur as the stop in their itinerary.

Road
The city connects to the NH 76 and NH 8 between Delhi and Mumbai. One can travel from Ahmadabad, Surat or Jaipur on NH 8. And apart from this there are various private companies providing transport service to and from the various region of India.

Best time to visit Udaipur 

The best time to visit Udaipur is Monsoon and winter season. Because in summers the temperature is hot and will not be a good idea probably. to roam comfortably and experience the best then august to march is the best days to visit.
