On 28 November, India noticed a historic spiritual and cultural moment when Narendra Modi unveiled a 77-foot-tall statue of Lord Ram at the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Goa.
The great statue is being installed as part of the 550-year celebration of the historic Math, making this event very special for devotees and followers of the Gowd Saraswat Brahmin community. The tall statue represents devotion, tradition and India’s rich cultural heritage.
A Historic Event in Goa
The event was organised at Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Canacona, South Goa.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Math temple and addressed thousands of devotees who gathered for the historic occasion. The event was attended by many prominent leaders, including the governor of Goa and the state’s chief minister.
The event celebrated 550 years of the Math, known as the “Sardha Panchashatamanotsava”.
