Dwarka is a municipality of the Devbhoomi Dwarka district in Gujarat. Dwarka is one of the foremost Chardham, four sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites. It is also one of the Sapta Puri, the seven most ancient religious cities in the country. Dwarka is often identified as the ancient kingdom of Krishna and is believed to have been the first capital of Gujarat.

1. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
Nageshwar Jyotirlinga is believed to be the first shrine out of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Daaruka, attacked a Shiva devotee Daaruka, named Supriya and imprisoned her along with others in the city of Darukavana. With the exhortations of Supriya, Shiva’s mantra was chanted by prisoners, thus Shiva arrived there. He destroyed all demons & arrived here.
- Bet Dwarka
Bet Dwarka is situated 30 Km north of the town of Dwarka. It is considered a part of the ancient city in the Indian epic, Mahabharata. It is a strip of sand and stone. You can enjoy a memorable boat ride to an island.
3. Rukshamanee Mandir
The temple is situated about 1.5 km from the main town, on the Okha highway. It is located on the banks of Bhagirathi River, Rukshamanee Mandir is dedicated to the beloved wife of Lord Krishna, Devi Rukmani. Temple features varied paintings of the time spent by Lord Krishna and Devi Rukmani.
The Mandir comprises a beautiful marble deity of Devi Rukmani, with four hands or Chaturbhuja. These four hands hold Shanka, Chakra, Gada, and Padma, which symbolize her being the reincarnation of Goddess Maha Lakshmi.
Tourists can travel to this temple by local buses, auto-rickshaws or on foot.
4. Gomti river
Gomati River is a tributary of the Ganges. The river is believed to be the daughter of the Hindu sage Vashist. Bathing in the Gomti on Ekadashi can wash away sins. According to Bhagavata Purana, the Gomti is one of India’s transcendental rivers. The rare Gomti Chakra is found there.
5. Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Mandir
Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Mandir is on the hillock in the ocean. This temple is 1.5 km from the main Dwarkadhish Temple. Chandra-Mouliswar Shiva is the managing divinity at the center of the sanctuary. The god shape was found at the juncture of Gomati, Ganga and Arabian Sea by the Acharya Jagatguru Sankaracharya himself. It is a very ancient temple. You can get the beautiful experience of getting Shiv Darshan and also viewing the sun setting over the horizon. The Bhuteshwar Mahadev Temple is on the seashore and is on top of a heavy group of stones. In the evening a large number of people assemble here for temple darshan and for seeing the sunset in the sea.
6. Gopi talav
Gopi Talav is 20 Kms from Dwarka The stories of Lord Krishna’s childhood abound with youthful pranks and romance has a connection with this lake. Gopis united with Krishna at the Gopi talav, on the night of Sharad Purnima and danced raas with him. It is believed that Gopis being unable to part from Krishna, offered their lives to the soil of this land and merged with their beloved. It is said that they turned into yellow clay, known as Gopi Chandan. Even today the soil of the Gopi talav is extremely smooth and yellow in color.
7. Dwarkadhish temple
Dwarkadhish Temple is also known as the Jagat Mandir. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Krishna, ‘The king of Dwarka’. The main shrine of the 5-storied building is supported by 72 pillars. The archaeological findings suggest it to be 2,200 – 2,000 years old. The Dwarkadhish Temple is a Pushtimarg temple, hence it follows the guidelines and rituals created by Vallabhacharya and Vitheleshnath.
8. Sudama Setu
A pedestrian bridge over the Gomti river connects Jagat Mandir and Panhead. The bridge was proposed in 2005 to boost tourism on the island. The island has religious as well as archaeological significance. There is five sweet water well called Panchkui associated with the five Pandava brothers of Mahabharata. Gomti river was crossed by boats till the construction of the bridge.
9. Swaminarayan Temple
This temple is about 5 mins walk from Dwarkadhish temple and is a very good Mandir. It has a divine atmosphere. The idols are decorated nicely, it gives a very positive feeling to the temple. Temple is great on its own because of the vibes it gets from the Dwarkadhish temple. Beautiful architecture with life-like idols of various Gods can be seen.It is located near the sea. A must-visit.
10. Siddeshwar Mahadev Temple
While on a pilgrimage to Dwaraka, it is believed that it is not completed without a visit to Siddheshwar Mahadev Mandir. Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple belongs to Lord Shiva. Close to Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple, there are other tourist attractions like Rukmini Devi Mandir, Hanumanji Temple, Bal Mandir, and Gayatri Shaktipeeth.
