Mahudi, ancient Jain Tirth, the tiny town of Gandhinagar district, Gujarat is one among the most important pilgrimage destination of India for Jain community, where thousands of devotee visit here throughout the year and particularly during certain festivals. Ancient Jain temple dedicated to Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir located in center of Mahudi Tirth was built around 2000 years ago and renovated by Shrimad Buddhisagarji Maharaj Saheb in 1917 and placed idol of Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir Dev– one among the fifty two vir. it’s believed that idol has miraculous power.
Yagya and other celebration is arranged in Mahudi Mandir on the fourteenth day of the dark half the month of Ashwin – Kali Chaudas, where many Jain and non-Jain reach here.
The attraction and tradition of Mahudi Jain Mandir is, its Prasad of Sukhadi which is obtainable to Ghantakarna Dev. it’s believed that devotee has got to eat Sukhadi in temple campus only and to not take Prasad reception . it’s also said that nobody can get success in taking Prasad to home till date thus now all devotee and tourist eat Sukhadi in Jinalaya campus or distribute to other but nobody tries to require Sukhadi outside the campus.
