Galtaji Mandir is situated at a distance of about 10 km from Jaipur. It is an ancient Hindu Pilgrimage. The Galtaji site consists of a series of temples in the ring of hills that surrounds Jaipur. There is a series of sacred kunds in which people bathe. These kunds are filled by the natural spring that emerges from the top of the hill. Saint Galav is believed to have lived and meditated here. Galtaji Mandir history:

The magnificent pink sandstone structure was built by Diwan Rao Kriparam. Diwan Rao was a courtier of Sawai Jai Singh II. This temple was named after Saint Galtaji. He is believed to have meditated here for a hundred years. Pleased by his devotion, the gods appeared before him and blessed his place of worship with copious water.

The Temple is open from 05:00 AM in the morning till 09:00 PM in the evening.

There is no requirement for entry fees in the Galtaji Temple.

Best time to visit Galtaji Temple:

The best time to visit the temple is during the festival of Makar Sankranti. It is during this time that you can see the monkeys having a bath in the water of these Kunds. 

The best months to visit the temple are February, March, October, and December.

How to reach Galtaji Mandir:

Air:

Sanganer Airport is at a very short distance from Galtaji Mandir. Visitors can hire a cab to the Mandir from the airport.

Rail:

The nearest Railway station is the Bais Godam Railway Station which is at a distance of 1 km from the temple.

Road:

The Inter-state Bus Stand is a bit away from the place. One may reach the temple using state buses and deluxe buses available.
