The Bharat Gaurav Train is a tourist train inaugurated by the Indian government in November 2021. It aims to showcase India’s rich culture and heritage by connecting the country’s historical, cultural, and religious places by train. The Union Government launched the “Bharat Gaurav Trains” initiative under the “Dekho Apna Desh” scheme to encourage domestic tourism.
Bharat Gaurav Train has operated 172 trips which cover 96,491 Tourists domestic & international. It has been operated in the 24 states & union territories. It is helping tap the wide tourism potential of India. The first originating train is from two Telugu states Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. The first train was named “Punya Kshetra Yatra: Puri – Kashi – Ayodhya”.
First train was run on November 17, 2021 and is managed by the Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation.
