Pipapriya – Places to visit and How to Reach

Pipariya is a town located 339 m above sea level in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh. It is well known for the railhead for the military station and various tourist destinations.

Places to Visit from Pippariya

Panchmarhi (54 km from Pipariya)

Panchmarhi is located at an altitude of 1067 meters above sea level and is a popular tourist attraction near pipariya. It is covered with dense forests and beautiful waterfalls. While visiting pipariya you get familiar with red sandstone mountains Dhupgadh and Mahadeo Hills.

Jata Shankar Caves

Jata Shankar Caves is located in Pipariya and is one of the holy places where there is a natural Shivalingam. The cave encloses mythological chapters of Lord Shiva and Bhasmasur.

Pandav Caves

Pandav Caves located in Pipariya are a group of five caves. It is believed that Pandavas took shelter in those caves and the caves are beautifully carved and are one of the tourist places in Pipariya.

Cave paintings in Satpura ranges (50 km from Pipariya)

A set of 17 cave paintings were found in the Satpura region by a group called “Hope”. These cave paintings are located in Dharur. In these paintings, one can see images of different animals. Some paintings are painted as human figures on horses with swords.


There are several tall waterfalls near pipariya namely Rajat Waterfall, Bee Waterfall, Duchess Waterfall,  Apsara Waterfall, Pavas Prapat Waterfall, Chauragarh falls.

There are two historical pillars near Pipariya Khamba Baba or Heliodrous Pillar, Sanchi Stupas

Rani Durgamati Museum

Rani Durgamati Museum is located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The building of the Durgawati museum was built in memory of Rani Durgamati who sacrificed her life fighting for her motherland.

Nauradehi wildlife sanctuary

Nauradehi wildlife sanctuary is the largest wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. It is the main site for cheetah reintroduction in India and it supports around 50 cheetahs. Birds like vultures, eagles, cranes, stork, doves, kingfishers, kites, owls are found in wildlife sanctuaries.

The best time to visit Nauradehi  Wildlife Sanctuary is during winters from November to February when it’s not too cold and can enjoy the lush greenery.
