Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Delhi is popularly known as Birla Temple. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and was completed in 1939. The temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. The huge temple complex spread over 7.5 acres of land consists of various other shrines dedicated to Ganeshji, Lord Shiva, Hanumanji, and Lord Buddha. The entire complex is a wonderland of temples, gardens, artificial waterfalls, and fountains. Daily Bhagavad Gita discourses are held in the Gita Bhavan.
Distinctive Features of the temple beautiful three-storied temple is adorned with depictions from Sat Yuga to the present Kali Yuga of the universal cycle of time. This work of art was created by more than a hundred skilled artisans from Varanasi. The highest Shikhara is at a height of 160 feet.
