Process of Amarnath Yatra

Medical Certificate for Amarnath Yatra
The first and foremost process of the Amarnath pilgrimage is a medical certificate. Medical certificate and registration are mandatory. No permission is given without a medical certificate. If you are travelling by helicopter, then only a medical certificate is needed and no registration is required.
But if you are travelling by walk, Khachchar, or in a palki, then registration and a medical certificate are necessary. Forms for medical certificates are available on the official website of the Shree Amarnathji Shrine Board. A list of doctors and hospitals is given on the website and medical certificates of other doctors from another hospital will be null and void. Amanathji Shrine Board creates new medical forms every year.
Amarnath Yatra Registration 2025
After getting your medical certificate, the next step will be registering for the Amarnath Yatra. There are four ways to register.
- Online Registration
You can register yourself online from the official website of the Amarnathji shrine board. For this process, no physical form fill-up or print is needed.
- Offline Registration
Amarnathji has authorised some banks and their branches for offline registration. For offline registration, you need to submit the physical form with all details and one passport-size photo. J&K Bank plays a major role in this offline bank registration.
- On-Site Registration
If you are in Kashmor and you want to do the Amarnath Yatra, then the on-site registration facility is for you. In this process, you have to go to the Kashmir registration area of the Amarnath ji Shrine Board and register yourself for the yatra 2-3 days before your pilgrimage journey.
- Group Booking
A group of at least 5 people can book their registration as a group. The booking cost of the group may depend upon the size of the group.
The registration price has been decided upon and one original photograph ID proof is compulsory for registration and pilgrimage.

The devotees who are travelling by helicopter do not need to register for the yatra; they just need a medical certificate.

Note: Devotees of age 13 to 70 are allowed only for the Amarnath pilgrimage and pregnant ladies of more than 8 weeks are not allowed to do the Amarnath Yatra.

This journey is 32 km, which will take 2-3 days to complete.
