Eklingji Temple History

The Idol of Eklingji Temple

Eklingji Temple

The deity idol is of Lord Shiva. The Shiva lingam has five faces and is made of black stone. The inscription on the south wall of the temple shows that the idol was established and its Pranpratishtha (installation) was performed by Bappa Rawal & then by Maharana Raimal ji around the 15th century (1473–1509).

The faces are of Lord Brahma (West), Lord Surya (East), Lord Vishnu (North) and Lord Rudra (South) and the upraised top is Shiva lingam, which is an embodiment of Sadashiva with Amba his consort.

On your entrance to the two-storied temple, it contains a beautifully sculpted Nandi. It also has a silver snake encircled at the bottom. Here, the Incarnation of Lord Ganesh and Karthikeya are at the silver door guarding their father. Also, there are Goddess Yamuna and Saraswati idols.

There are two Kunds named Karz Kund and Tulsi Kund situated in the North.

Udaipur Eklingji Temple Entry Fee

There is no entry fee inside the temple. But the temple is open for the three shifts mentioned above.

Best Time to Visit Eklingji Temple

September to March is the best time to visit the places. As there is no specific time to take the blessings of Lord Shiva, you can visit the place at any time of the year.

Festivals Celebrated at Eklingji Temple

Shivratri is the main festival celebrated here. Other than that, there are Navratras, Pradosh, Makar Sankranti, Vaishakh & Shravan special manoraths held here. This time, a large number of devotees come here to receive blessings.

Kindly correct information regarding Ekling ji temple timing and Distance from udaipur railway station it’s 24km and not 2.4km
