The journey to Kedarnath from Delhi is quite prominent and easy. Various buses and car services are available to Haridwar/Rishikesh. Your trip starts from Delhi and take a bus or car to reach Haridwar/Rishikesh. I would recommend Rishikesh because it is time-saving, but you can reach Haridwar.
From Haridwar, you will get buses to Sonprayag; they will also say Kedarnath, but the last stop is Sonprayag and Sitapur. Mostly the bus service starts from early 3:00 AM and try to get the earliest bus so you do not face much traffic and have proper rest for the next day’s trekking.
As for Rishikesh, you can take a bus, public or private taxi to Sonprayag. Normally it takes time around 7-8 hours, mostly depending on traffic. But start your journey as early as possible.
Also, registration is compulsory for your Kedarnath Dham Yatra, so before packing your bag, do your registration online.
Reaching Sonprayag Stay overnight there or in Gaurikund according to availability. I recommend booking your accommodation before your trip, especially during peak season. If you are living in Sonprayag then take a sharing taxi to Gaurikund, which will charge you around Rs. 50.
