About Gangotri Temple

Gangotri is a Hindu temple, dedicated to the goddess Ganga and a pilgrimage site located in Uttarakhand, on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. It is one of the four sacred shrines in Hinduism, known as the Char Dham. The temple is situated in the western region of the Garhwal Himalayas, at an elevation of 3,100 meters above sea level.

The Holy temple closes every year on the Diwali festival and opens at the beginning of the month of April or May. And also he placed the statue of the Goddess at the Mukba village.

The temple opens from 6:15 AM to 2:00 PM. It closes for an hour and opens again at 3:00 PM. Gangotri temple closes for an hour in the afternoon, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 PM and then at 9:30 PM at night.
