Gangotri Temple Kapat Opening and Closing Date
The Gangotri temple opens for six months every year, between the end of April and the beginning of November, due to heavy snowfall in the region during the winter months. The temple’s management committee and the priests decide the exact date for the opening and closing of the temple, which is announced well in advance. The temple opens from 6:15 am to 2:00 pm. It closes for an hour and opens again at 3:00 pm.
Gangotri Temple Closing Time: 9:30 pm
The temple closes for an hour in the afternoon from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and then at 9:30 pm at night.

The Gangotri temple Aarti timings are 6:00 AM when Mangala Aarti is performed behind closed doors. The second Aarti takes place at 7:45 PM.
Note: The temple closes Darshan for certain times in the day for Maha Bhog for 10 mins from 9:00 AM to 9:10 AM and in the afternoon for an hour.

Gangotri Darshan Timings
