History of Shirdi Sai Baba Temple
Sai Baba was a mysterious person. No one knows about him, From where he came, His name, religion, etc but his thinking and people started believing that he does not belong to any single religion but to the path of understanding, love and goodness. Thus, Hindus say he is a Hindu and Muslims believe he is a Muslim.
This is the only place where there is a mosque inside a temple. Saibaba lived with common people as a penniless fakir, wearing a kafni and sleeping upon a met, begging for food. In 1918, Sai Baba left his mortal body, as he was always and ever aware of what happened within the minds and hearts of everyone, his devotees or not. Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir
Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir is a main attraction of Shirdi located in the heart of Shirdi. Sai Baba’s body has been laid to eternal rest here. It was built in 1917-1918 by a Nagpur millionaire and a Sai Baba devotee, Shreemant Gopalrao Buti. The Samaddhi is built with white marble. A Stunning statue of Sai Baba, in which he is seated on a throne, was made of Italian marble by Balaji Vasant in 1954. It has an open silver umbrella above it.
