Vasavi Kanyaka Parmeswari’s Birth

During the 10th–11th centuries A.D., Kusuma Sresti was the king of Vysyas and was ruling the kingdom. He wanted Penugonda as the capital city for all 18 Parganas. His wife was Kusumamba.

With the blessings of Guru Baskaracharya, the couple lived happily in peace and ruled all 18 states with Dharma. Then years passed but the couple was childless. This was a serious factor, as they got everything but a child.

They went to Guruji and asked for the solution to their problem Guruji advised them to perform a Putrakamesti Yagna properly. After this yagna, Kusumamba completed 10 months of pregnancy and gave birth to two twins, one male and one female.

A boy named Virupaksha and a girl named Vasavamba. This is how Goddess Vasavi Kanyaka Parmeswari was born and that’s why she is also called Vasavamba
