Temple History in brief
Though it is one of the Shaktipeethas, this temple is pretty historical. Goddess Shakti burnt herself in the fire because her father did not invite Lord Shiva, her husband to his yagna. Out of grief, Lord Shiva carried Sati’s body roaming in the universe. Lord Vishnu cut Sati’s body in 51 parts using the Sudarshan Chakra. Those parts fell on Earth and those places are now sacred Sahktipeethas. Harsiddhi Mata Temple is where the elbow of Goddess Sati fell.
It is one of the top 13 Shaktipeeths shrines among the 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata Sati.
