Jhandewala Temple is one of the oldest temples in Delhi, dedicated to Maa Adi Shakti who is the most powerful divine feminine in Hinduism. It is located on the road Jhandewala road on the way to Karol Bagh, Delhi and it named as Jhandewala from the prayers flag that was offered at the temple during Shah Jahan’s rule.

History of Jhandewala Temple

It is believed that Badri Bhagat, who was one of the greatest devotee of Mata Jhandewali had a dream of her where he was told about the idol inside the earth on the Jhandewala road. People went and dug up the place and found the idol of the goddess. Then after this temple was constructed at the same place and the original idol of Jhandewali Mataji is present at the ground level.

Importance of Jhandewala Temple

The temple got its name Jhanewala Temple from the prayer flags that was offered at the temple during Shah Jaha’s rule. Many devotees visit this temple just to have a glimpse of the divine Goddess. This place holds a great significance among Hindus and it is believed that people who visit this place, Maa Jhandewali bless them with happiness, prosperity and desired wish fulfillment.

Jhandewala Temple Timing

The Temple stays open two days a week – Tuesay and Sunday. It remains open on the afternoon of Shukla Paksha Ashtami.

On Tuesday Temple open at 04:00 AM and close at 10:30 PM.

On Sunday the temple open at 05:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM.

Note – During Navratri the temple opens at 04:00 AM and close at 12:00 AM. The temple close for cleaning between 6:15 PM to 07:00 PM in the evening.

Jhandewala Temple Online Darshan Booking 2024

  1. First of all, visit the official website of the Jhandewala Temple i.e., https://jhandewalamandir.org/.
  2. On the web homepage, you need to click on the “Get your e-ticket now” link.
  3. A new page will open, where you need to enter User name, then click on the “registration” option.
  4. Now you can see the registration form will be open on screen, where you need to enter the required information like name, mobile number, etc.
  5. In the last option, you need to click on the “Register” option.
  6. Once you successfully login to the jhandewalamandir.org website, you have to select an option “to get a Jhandewala Mandir Entry Pass/ Ticket” either “Bhagat“.
  7. Select one of the option and then enter the mobile number and next you will get your e pass for Mandir darshan for suitable dates.

Note – You will also get the Entry pass through the Jhandewala Mandir Application. All you have to scan the QR code to download the Jhandewala App and there you cane register and get your E-pass on your whatsapp for the same.

  • Devotee will be able to get the facility according to the time and day they have booked.
  • Ravindra Goyal told that this facility is completely free, devotee do not have to pay any charge for this.
  • Devotee can book their darshan at different slot from 04:30 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • The trustee of the temple told that 4 people are allowed to come on one booking.
