It is always believed that Sri Skanda Shasti Festival is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya who is the son of Lord Mahadeva and Goddess Parvati, people who worship Lord Skanda Shashti with the pure heart and properly are blessed with the child, at the same time all the vices such as anger, ego, attachment, and greed are erased within the Devotees. They pay their tribute to god by keeping vrat (fasting) on that day.

This year’s festival will take place from 24th October and will end on 30 October.
Sri Skanda Shasti Events 2022
It will begin on the 25 October with the flag hosting at 8 am.
From 25th October to 30 October, there will be daily ‘Jhoola Utsav’ in the Evening of Sri Kartikeya with Sri Valli and Sri Devsena in a decorated Palanquin accompanied by Nadaswaram and Bhajan.
Sri Skanda Shasti festival will start with ‘Ghatasthapna’ on 25th October.
Sri Ganesh Havan, Sri Navagraha Havan, followed by Rudrabhishekam, Archana, and Aarthi will be performed.
On October 30 Maha Skanda Shasti will be there for that day special Abhishek, Kavadi, Kumara Pooja, Archana, Deepa pooja, and Haldi Kumkum will be offered.
Special cultural programs have been arranged during the Sri Skanda Shasti festival.
Deepavali Sahasradeepam will be lit on October 25 at 6 pm followed by Nadaswaram.
