Various rituals and programs are going to be performed during the 9-day Shivnavratri Utsav, which is scheduled to start at the Mahakaleshwar Temple on account of Maha Shivratri.
9 days before Shivratri, devotees impress Shivji with Abhishek and mantra. Devotees also use Shringar to show Lord Shiva and its highlights and story.
On the last day, Panchamrit Abhishek and Bhasmarti are done at Mahakaleshwar Temple. A large number of devotees come during these 9 days, especially on Maha Shivratri.

Day 1 – Beginning of Shiv Navratri
Shiva Navratri begins on the first day with Baba Mahakal being decorated with sandalwood and turmeric being applied to him.
Day 2 – Sheshnath
Baba Mahakal is decorated in the form of Sheshnag on the second day and gives darshan to the devotees in the form of Sheshnag.
Day 3 – Ghataatop Roop
On the third day, Lord Mahakaleshwar will appear as an overcast figure to the devotees.
Day 4 – Chhabina
Baba Mahakal is decorated in the form of Chhabina, a young form. Lord Mahakaleshwar looks like a prince on the fourth day.
Day 5 – Holkar Traditions
On the fifth day, Lord Mahakaleshwar is decorated with Holkar traditions.
Day 6 – Manmahesh
On the sixth day, Baba Mahakal is decorated in the form of Lord Shiva as Manmahesh.
Day 7 – Uma-Mahesh
Baba Mahakal appears with Mata Parvati as Uma-Mahesh. Devotees can see the forms of Mother Parvati and Mahakal Baba on this day.
Day 8 – Shiv Tandav
On the eighth day, Baba Mahakal appears to the devotees as Shiva Tandav, showing to them the violent side of Mahakal.
Day 9 – Last Day
Mahakal is dressed up as a groom on the final day of Navratri. Baba is given a crown made of several quintals of flowers.
