The wait of the devotees is finally over with the news of the re-opening of Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. The Holy Shrine of Goddess Vaishno Devi is in Jammu & Kashmir. The temple was closed since 18th March due to the risk of the Coronavirus pandemic. Now the temple will re-open on the 16th of August for the devotees.
Vaishno Devi Temple will re-open on 16th August, after Independence Day celebrations.
The Jammu & Kashmir Administration has announced the reopening of all religious places across the Union Territory on 16th August. Although religious gatherings and processions remain strictly prohibited.
The temple will be open but all the precautionary steps will be followed strictly adhering to the Coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs). The Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will announce it’s own SOPs.
Preparations to re-open Vaishno Devi Temple
The preparations have already started to open the Vaishno Devi Temple on 16th August. They are doing regular sanitization of Katra Town and twin tracks. The circles are marked outside the counter of Yatra Parchi, at the Bhavan, and also at the helipads.
Initially, the Shrine Board will allow only local pilgrims to visit the cave. Later on, the Shrine Board will allow outsiders and pilgrims from other states.
Along with the Vaishno Devi Temple, other important pilgrimage places of Jammu and Kashmir are going to re-open. This includes Babee Mandir, Raghunath Mandir, Shiv Khori, and many more well-known pilgrimage places of the Union Territory.
