Yamunotri Temple Overview

Yamunotri Temple History

The Yamunotri temple is a yellow conical-shaped tower with a beautiful red border at the top.

The temple was first constructed by King Sudarshan Shah in 1839 and was damaged by an earthquake after which Queen Gularia Devi took the initiative to renovate it in the 19th century. The temple had been destroyed twice by snow and floods before the renovation.
