About Statue of Unity
If you are thinking of visiting one of the finest 100 places in the world with the best trip provider you are already in right place.
182 meters heightened ‘Statue of Unity is built in the memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Iron man of India. Born on 31st October 1875, pre-Independence, he led this country to new heights while India was struggling for independence. He was the former leader of the National Congress. For the first Hat-Trick years after independence, he served as a deputy Prime Minister of India, Minister of home affairs, Minister of information, and Minister of State.
“Kutch to Kohima, Kargil, or Kanyakumari – if we can travel freely today across the beautiful and bountiful lands of India, it is because of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel”.
“The safety and preservation of these states as well as of India demand unity and cooperation between its different parts. By common endeavor, we can raise the country to new greatness while lack of unity will expose us to fresh calamities” – Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel
The best part about this place
Like every other heart-warming place in India, it’s a privilege to visit the “Statue of Unity” in an account of taking our heads high with Proud and Pride.
- When it comes to the construction of this statue, the government started “THE STATUE OF UNITY MOVEMENT”. In this movement for the statue of Ironman of India, iron was collected from the farmers donating their scrap instruments. About 135 metric tonnes of iron were gathered and out of which 109 metric tonnes were utilized. In this scenario of high global warming, our Prime minister thought of why to waste material if we can build ‘Best out of Waste’. A country like India never takes its step backward when it comes to utilizing things to their best and that’s our pride, not a shame.
- This statue is located at the bay of River Narmada, right show-casing its face to Sardar Sarovar Dam.
- On the 143rd birthday anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, October 31st, 2018, this statue was inaugurated by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is setting examples in front of the world and fostering India to the new heights of development.
- The statue is built in a way that can stand up against winds of up to 180 km/hour and earthquakes measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale which is at a depth of 10 km and within a radius of 12 km of the statue.
- It took 57 months to complete, 15 months for planning, 40 months for construction, and two months for handing over by the consortium.
- Doubled the height of New York’s ‘Statue of Liberty’, the Government of Gujrat has fixed every nail perfectly and keenly in making this place a world-class tourist center. The statue is attracting millions of foreign as well as domestic visitors across India. The scenic beauty is breathtakingly awesome with the shore of River Narmada along with Satpura and Vidhyanchal Hills and a statue on an Island is giving a perfect view.
