The Bhavnath Mahashivratri Mela is a popular religious fair held every year at Bhavnath Mahadev Temple near Girnar Hill in Junagadh, Gujarat. It takes place for five days during the festival of Mahashivratri and is attended by lakhs of devotees and sadhus from across India.
The most important moment is the midnight procession of Naga sadhus and their holy bath at Mrugi Kund, followed by special worship of Lord Shiva. Along with prayers, people also enjoy devotional programs, food stalls and traditional fair activities.
The fair begins four days before Maha Shivaratri. People from as far as Mewar, Kutch, and Gujarat visit the fair. The organisers offer free food to the pilgrims. Artisans from Ayodhya and Mathura display their handicrafts here. Visitors enjoy local folk music and beautiful folk dances.

Bhavnath Mini Kumbh Junagadh
In 2026, the festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 15 February (Sunday), on the Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalguna according to the Hindu calendar.
The Bhavnath Mahashivratri Fair 2026 will start from 11 February to 15 February 2026.
The Girnar Shivratri Fair is at Bhavnath Temple at Girnar Taleti. Lakhs of people visit the Bhavnath Shivratri Fair. So, the Girnar Shivratri Fair is also famous as the Mini Kumbh. The Bhavnath Shivratri Fair begins 4 days before Maha Shivratri. So, the last day of Mela is Maha Shivratri.
The fair begins with a flag hoisting ceremony by Naga saints and lasts for four days. Several events are organised for 4 days of the fair. People wait to see sword stunts performed by Naga Saints. The Mela concludes with a Ravadi procession by Naga saints and a bath in Mrigi Kund.
The saints perform Maha Aarti on the last day of Maha Shivratri.
The history of Bhvanath Temple is unknown, as it is old. There’s a belief that while going across the Bhavnath Temple, the garments of Shiva and Parvati fell here.

Ravadi in Girnar at Mahashivratri Mela
Hundreds of naked Hindu saints walk from Bhavnath Mandir to Mrigi Kund, where they bathe at midnight.
