Gupteswar Cave Temple is a fascinating temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is located in the region known as Dandakaranya in the Ramayana. It is believed that Shri Rama has worshipped this Shivling during His stay here. It was not known to anyone else, hence the name  – Gupteswar. The temple is reached by climbing about a thousand steps through the cave. There in the sanctum, is a Shivling which is about 2 meters high and said to be growing in size.
