Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Nashik is closed for 8 days. The destination is an important pilgrimage destination 28km from the Nashik district.
The Trimbakeshwar temple will remain closed from Jan 5 to Jan 12.
As stated by the secretary of Shri Trimbakeshwar Devasthan Trust, maintenance work of the jyotirlinga of the temple will be carried out by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). To prevent damage, during this time fresh coating will be put on the jyotirlinga.
During this period, no devotee will be allowed inside the temple.
Being one of the 12 jyotirlinga temples, trimbakeshwar temple is located at the foot of the Bahamagiri hill. Around 20,000 devotees visit the temple each day from Maharashtra and the country.
