About Rajarani Temple Bhubaneswar
The walls of the temple are carved with scenes depicting the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati, Nataraja, Nayikas in different postures, and more. The name ‘Rajarani’ comes from the fact that red and yellow sandstone has been used in the building of this temple. That stone is known as Rajarania locally. A music festival is organized by the Odisha Tourism department in February each year and is attended by top classical music performers.
Puja and worship are not done in this temple but it is a protected archeological monument. The temple is proof of the skill of the master temple builders in the days gone by.
