History of Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

The sage Yada, son of Rishi Shrunga performed a hard penance to God Narasimha. The origin of this temple is mentioned in Skanda Purana, one of the famous 18 Puranas. Pleased with this, Lord appeared in 5 different avatars.

These are Jwala Narasimha, Yogananda Narasimha, Ugra Narasimha, Gandaberunda Narasimha and Lakshmi Narasimha. Rishi requested him to live on this hill and bless the tribal people. Later, these gods turned into finely sculpted forms and promised to be there till the end of Kaliyuga. So, this place is worshipped as Panch Narasimha Kshetram.
