Balancing Scale and Arrow
As the story goes, there was a sage named Athreya Suprabha who wanted to perform a Yagna. When he ploughed the land to make it suitable for the Puja, he found a balancing scale and an arrow. They were a couple who had been cursed by the Devas and had separated. Now they were together again and the curse ended. After the sage completed his Yagna, Lord Vishnu appeared out of the lotuses in an adjacent pond and the place came to be named Aravindalochanar.
